SUMMER SERIES OF EVENING EVENTS

During June and July CLOK will be organising a Summer Series consisting of four evening events.  A new feature for this year is that the evening events will use "normal" orienteering terrain rather than permanent orienteering courses.

The events will be in a variety of formats, but each will provide:

§       A long, technically difficult course (e.g. Blue) for experienced orienteers.

§       A short, technically difficult course (e.g. Short Green / Light Green) for experienced orienteers.

§       A long, technically easier course (e.g. long Red) for runners with basic navigational skills.

§       A short, technically easier course (e.g. Orange) for adult novices and juniors.

The Silton event will take the form of an Evening Colour Coded event, using SI electronic punching and with courses planned to normal colour coded standards.

The "Purple" course will be designed for road and fell runners with no previous experience of orienteering.  We will also be putting on introductory talks aimed at helping newcomers to understand how to participate in and enjoy orienteering.  Encourage your non-orienteering friends to come along!

Start times will generally be from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Fees:    Seniors  £2 per event or £6 for the series.
Juniors   £1 per event or £3 for the series.

The provisional dates and venues are:

Wednesday 11th June           Hutton Lowcross

Wednesday 25th June           Silton

Wednesday 9th July              Lazenby Bank & Eston Moor

Wednesday 23rd July            Cod Beck

Put these dates in your diary and keep your eyes open for further information over the next couple of months!  Details will be posted on the CLOK web site at www.clok.org.uk
